#10: Odor-smelling eye-shadow palettes that caused headaches
In 2016, Kylie Jenner launched her own beauty brand. Kylie’s products, Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits are very popular among the fashion and beauty-obsessed. Although the brand has enjoyed a lot of success, it is not all rosy. TMZ documented in February that at least 15 people filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau that they could smell chemicals and glue in the Royal Peach Eyeshadow Palette when they opened it.
The complainants compared the smell to “spray paint” and “paint thinner”. They complained having bouts of headache after smelling the horrible odor when they opened the palettes. A customer claimed the odor was so strong such that she had to throw the palette away. Kylie Cosmetics however insisted the palettes were safe to use after verifying the claims.

However, not everyone agreed with Forbes’ use of the term “self-made” because Jenner was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. This controversy sparked numerous criticisms with many making fun of it on social media. Comedian Fat Jew started a GoFunMe page to help Kylie Jenner earn another $100 millionn so that she would officially become a billionaire.
Two years later, Forbes would accuse Jenner of forging tax documents so that she would appear as a billionaire.
Despite the setbacks, Jenner is officially recognized by Forbes as the only person in her 20s and worth $700 million.

In January 2017, make-up artist Vlada Haggerty claimed that Jenner had stolen the creative style and aesthetic of her own work, such as the dripping gloss lip and golden finger tips, for her own products, and that Jenner had a history of taking Haggerty’s original dripping lip art and passing it off as her own. Jenner later credited Valda on social media and her work on the creation of the logo and an undisclosed settlement was paid to avoid any future legal issues.
