Headteacher shot dead in his car

A school teacher called Yaw Eyifa Gorman, affectionately dubbed Dr. Sting, has been shot in his house in Cape Coast by unknown gunmen at around 7: 50pm.

According to neighbours, the deceased had returned home from census training on the  Saturday. Tenants and neighbours found him dead and bathed in blood in his car with gun wounds.

The current incident has created an atmosphere of fear and panic in and around the area.

Yaw’s neighbours described him as very easy-going and amiable and were taken aback by the unfortunate incident.

“He had no issue with anyone in the house or neighbourhood”, claimed a co-tenant.  Many believe the crime was committed by armed robbers.

According to statements by co-tenants, the loud sound of a gun was heard and reverberated through the neighbourhood. This made them rushed out to find out where the sound had come from. To their utter dismay, the headteacher was found liveless in his car, apparently shot.

After the shots were fired, Mr. Gorman’s wife cried out for help. Co-tenants giving account of the incident narrated that the wife cried out for “someone to come help”. This attracted almost the entire neighbourhood to the crime scene. 

The Central Region Police Command has currently launched investigation into the incident.
