Britons will have to adjust their lives after a 70 year respite. The long reign of Queen Elizabeth II has come to an end and simultaneously, another reign has began – a King now.
The British anthem of “God Save the Queen” will now be “God Save the King”.
The national song will have to be revised to reflect the current monarch, King Charles III. The word “Queen” will be supplanted by the word “King” and the phrase “her victorious” with “him victorious”.
Britons first sang the revised anthem at Buckingham palace
On Thursday when the Queen passed away, the then Prince Wales and family members had joined her at the Balmoral castle. Prince Charles returned to Buckingham palace as King Charles III and was greeted by happy supporters of the crown who sang “God Save the King” with the necessary replacements.
There will be a memorial service for the Queen. It will end with singing “God Save the King” as its maiden rendition.
The ceremony will come off at 6pm and will be open to public participation. A reported number of 2,000 seats will be available to the general public.
The ceremony will grace the screens of the BBC on a live broadcast to the world.
