At the launch of the Bonokyempem Council, the Dormaahene highlighted the Golden Stool shown during Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 25th anniversary, arguing that its form suggests it was manually made rather than spiritually revealed.

“As for this one, I will say it. If anyone tells you they can summon something to descend from the sky, it’s a lie. Didn’t you see when the Golden Stool was recently unveiled? It looked welded,” he questioned.

Dormaahene’s claims spark reactions on social media

Dormaahene’s remarks on the Golden Stool stirred strong reactions. His comments drew public criticism and lively exchanges on social platforms, given the stool’s revered place in tradition.

One user mocked his clan’s own origin story involving a fire-spitting dog.
Another dismissed his knowledge of Dormaa history.
A third suggested he attacks Asante people just to stay relevant.
Others argued he always seeks conflict, though some questioned who actually witnessed the stool’s descent.
