Ghana’s Parliament returns from recess today – May 25, 2021

Ghana’s Parliament will reconvene today, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:00am after recess. Parliament is expected to hold its second meeting of the first session of the 8th Parliament of the fourth Republic.

In a letter dated May 25, 2021 and signed by the clerk to Parliament, Cyril Kwabena Oteng Nsiah, it notified

Hon. members that the Second Meeting of the First Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Tuesday, 25th May, 2021 at Ten O’clock in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra.

Letter of notice to parliamentarians

The House is expected to consider five bills, including a law aimed at crippling or putting illegal mining in check.

Parliament will also be commencing the vetting of Presidential nominees for Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers for other ministerial slots.

Parliament also expects budget reports for the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Lands and Natural Resources for the period January to December, 2020 to be presented.
