It was a mismatch – a total mismatch when mighty Putin decided to breathe fire down the neck of Comedian-turned-President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Outmatched in number and quality of armory whether on land, sea or air, or in the number of servicemen, Ukraine looked like a tiny piece of roasted meat just within grasp of carnivorous Putin.

But the strength and bravery of the Ukranian people and its President were apparently undermined by Putin and his oligarchs. It turned out that Ukrainians were tougher than they looked.

As Mark Twain rightly put it, “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog” that matters.

The Ukrainians have proved to be a formidable force holding fiercely back the aggression of Vladimir Putin.

Although, thousands have fled the war, mostly women, children and the elderly, those between the ages of 18 and 60 have stayed behind, picked arms to defend the homeland.

But it is not the general mobilization of the Ukrainian people or the willingness and zeal with which Ukrainians living abroad are trooping in to take firearms to defend their nation that I’m going to talk about today. Will save that for another day.

Today, I want to feed you with the chilling details of the so-called ghost of kyiv or kiev.

The Ghost of Kyiv

On one single day, an unnamed Ukrainian pilot did the unspeakable, the unbelievable since world war 2. A single pilot ruled the skies of Kyiv by sinking six Russian fighter jets.

Astounded by this miraculous feat, the Russians have dubbed him the ghost of Kyiv.

The Ghost of Kyiv is thus a nickname given to the Ukrainian fighter pilot who shot down six Russian planes in a fierce Kyiv offensive on the 24th February 2022 all with an MiG-29 Fulcrum.

This feat undoubtedly was a major morale boost to the Ukrainian military and civilians.

Could the Ghost of Kyiv be an Urban Legend?

Many have disputed the authenticity of the Ghost of Kyiv (GOK) and dismissed it as just farce or another urban legend crafted to whip in some morale sauce into the Ukrainian people and army who seem to be frustrated by the multi-pronged attack by Putin’s war machine.

Oh NO! It is real!

But before you make your own judgement, will you please hold your breath for a moment?

Various Ukrainian official sources have reportedly confirmed the existence and truism of the GOK. Some have even shared pictures of the man behind this unthinkable feat at a time that his country needed it most.

The former President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, who was seen in the middle of Kyiv armed, and apparently staying put in the country, has uploaded this heroic pilot whizzed these six Russian fighter jets down the drain.

This does not only prove that the GOK is not just a myth but the feat was indeed achieved, but it also confirms that he is still somewhere in the air hunting for hostile Russian planes.

Videos posted or shared online showed the GOK freely soaring through the skies of Kyiv looking for his next victim. The former Ukrainian President tweeted this:

“In the image we have the MiG-29 pilot known as ‘The Ghost of Kyiv’.

How did it all happen? Who were victims of the GOK?

As the Russian military invaded the land and skies of Ukraine, little did they know that they would meet one brave fighter pilot who would crash not one but six Russian killer fighter jets.

The so-called Ghost of Kyiv (GOK) reportedly launched from his base just south of the capital city, Kyiv apparently knowing he faced a superior foe both in terms of arms quality and numbers.

As it is usually the norm, his ground controller fed him with the necessary data about range and bearing and he instantaneously replied with his radar information. With range and bearings confirmed, the ground controller gave the nod to go for the kill.

Immediately, GOK pursued his enemies with amazing ferocity, targeting, aiming and shooting with precision.

Apparently, he had one thing on his mind – victory. And at that instance, he was clearly devoid of the spirit of fear.

After a long chase and having downed some aircrafts, he ran out of fuel and ammunition at some point. The GOK had no choice but to land, refuel and re-arm.

Within minutes, the GOK was airborne and the chase was on again. In the end, he succeeded in downing 2 SU-35s, 1 SU-27, 1 MiG 29, and 2 SU-25s making a total of six Russian aircrafts in a row.

This inevitably earned him the name, the Ghost of Kyiv (GOK).

The Ghost of Kyiv (GOK) adds more kills to his hit-list?

As the Russian pilots ran helter-skelter, rumors had it that during the night another four Russian helicopters and one Russian Ilushyn II-76 that was carrying Russian forces near Vasilkyv in the south of kyiv have been downed by yet another ferocious Ukrainian pilot. Could it be the Ghost of Kyiv still hanging in the clouds and plugging Russian aircrafts like freely falling riped mangoes in a blizzard?

Putin is unhappy!

America, the main adversary of Russia, will be watching keenly as just one Ukrainian fighter pilot rules the massive skies of Kyiv. He should be concerned and angry with his military generals. Prior to the invasion, he dressed down his own spy chief for not being unambiguous in his delivery. Clearly, the spy chief knew the resolve of the Ukrainians which Putin wasn’t told.

Putin makes last ditch to scare Ukraine into submission – Nuclear Weapons!!!

Even as the Russian leader agrees to talks to end the war diplomatically, he once again hints on his massive nuclear weapons. This time, he minced no words when he told his military commanders to get the nuclear deterrence on high alert.

It is funny how Putin now is grasping at straws to save his face.

It is high time his military commanders poked some sense into his skull and reminded him that the first country to build a nuclear bomb was the United States. Besides, the only country to have used a nuclear bomb is the United states.

So if his pilots cannot best Ukrainian pilots in the skies of Kyiv but think they can deliver nuclear bombs to the shores of NATO members while Moscow breathes, then he is dead wrong.

NATO will no doubt make sure that a retaliatory nuclear strike will paralyze Russia for life and force her to abandon nuclear bombs.  Putin can learn some lessons from Japan.

Combined, NATO has more nuclear bombs than Vlad.

But his biggest enemy is still in the air – the Ghost of Kyiv (GOK).
